Was the original choice for the 1996 blockbuster Raja Hindustani, and was offered the second lead in the 1997 blockbuster Dil tou pagal hai, losing both movies to Karisma Kapoor. Later on, Kapoor went on to receive accolades and multiple awards for both roles.
